Changing the original subject, but it would be nice to have those mac minis plugged as “communal computers”, at wnb night sometimes ppl ask me to use a spare computer.

Looks like idle laptop power draw, on average, is well below the mac mini's 23W.

FWIW, I think the Mac minis, if loaded with a lightweight linux distro, could be used for a basic coding class, or perhaps a DVD player.
