I'd very much like to sign on.

I think the rules say that to take an action, someone just needs to propose it at a meeting with 7 people, then give everyone who wasn't at the meeting a week to register concerns. Although it's tricky because we rarely get 7 people at a meeting.

I'm just going to try as an experiment proposing this here and now, then asking at the meeting (regardless of attendance) and see if someone objects.

If no one objects and perhaps seven people are aware of the proposal, that seems like it should satisfy the basic requirements.

I propose we sign on to the above letter ! If you oppose this, LET IT BE SO KNOWNNNNNNN!!!

You're all witnesses now. Let's see what happens.

What sort of quorum would we need to sign it as Sudoroom? Perhaps we can bring this up at the August meeting this coming Wednesday?

Hey y'all,

I'm a member of Traffic Violence Rapid Response (a group that is taking action to reduce traffic fatalities in Oakland), and I'm writing to see if Sudoroom is interested in signing onto this letter to the city council to protect cyclists and pedestrians on Grand Ave! Let me know if you'd be willing to sign and we can put the Sudoroom logo in the signature.

Thanks,
Emma

Hey Sudoers,

I just learned that Oakland's city planners are being pressured by AC Transit to curtail their bikable city plan on Grand Avenue! And there's a public hearing meeting on Tuesday, July 25 at 6:30 - 7:30 here: https://meet.google.com/tzk-sbcu-uwk

You can read more details here (SF Streetsblog), but the short version is that the city said it wants to make Grand Avenue look more like Telegraph, which I love, and instead the bus company is like, "No, fuck that, add in another lane of high speed traffic through an urban neighborhood. We might want it in the future. Fuck parks and restaurants, we want concrete and steel suffocating the community.

If you've got a minute during Hardware Hacking Tuesday, drop in and be heard. This is crazy, and I really hope we can speak loudly enough to keep AC Transit from fucking up a good plan.

Lots of love,
