Hi Skylar,

Yea what you mentioned might be true is right - there's no way of knowing since the machine is very accessible to members, as well as anyone who comes to events. I don't think our machine can cut carbon fiber (or should be used to try to) but there's no signage at sudo room about it. So someone could have tried.

My friend at UCB is working with a group making diy air purifiers for schools. I could forward your request if you like.

Hi folks, I'm writing on behalf of Common Humanity Collective, a local mutual aid collective that distributes free masks and DIY air purifiers to the community. We've been looking for access to a laser cutter that has NOT come into contact with or been in the vicinity of any carbon fiber dust/residue - we don't want anybody breathing that in because we accidentally transferred some to our air purifiers!

I realize this might not be possible to answer b/c so many people have worked in the space, but have people worked with carbon fiber at sudoroom before? Are there any rules allowing/forbidding it from use? Any info would be helpful, thank you!
