Who is on this list? Is it active? I'd like to know if anyone knows the
specs of the 3D printers (particularly nozzle size) and the recommended
slicing settings.
Anyone know?

Hi all,
Just came by Sudo Room tonight, and I met a guy named Zirk there (pretty
sure I'm not spelling his name right, but that's how it sounded). He knew
his way around, and told to email you all.
I'm just looking for someone who knows how to repair 3D printers,
specifically the SLA kind. Can anyone help, or can point me to someone who
can?
Best,
Koz

Hi Tricia, we might be able to use it. I could personally use some
1.75mm and Sudoroom's …
[View More]TAZ takes 3mm. Sudoroom might have other
machines as well but I'm not sure.

Hey Sudo Room,
I’m new. Looking to get some time/experience on 3D printers. Cirq showed me around a bit yesterday and mentioned this list. I figure it’d be smart to see if I can meet with anyone else who’s printing, to make sure I’m respectful of the machines, and can find the best ways to contribute to their maintenance and ongoing functionality. Is there a night next week that anyone on this list is working with the printers? Thanks and looking forward to meeting.
Warmly,
Nick
I have a design that is on a .stl file which needs to be produced on the 3D
printer, tonight or tomorrow. Can anyone please reply with a
firm commitment? Will pay for your troubles.
Thank you
I was printing a thing today (a lid for a beagle bone black case) and when
I went to check on the completed print, the lid had already popped itself
off the surface, but it had taken some of the glass with it! Very odd. I
left the print with the glass attached on the printer.
I think it must have been the combination of using the acetone+abs to make
the print stick to the surface and the rapid cooling given the cold weather.
Sorry to have messed up the print surface. I'll see if we can get a …
[View More]new
surface without having to buy a new heating element also.
In the mean time you can tell slic3r to offset the print to a different
area where the glass is still good.

Hey folks,
I attended 3D Tuesday last night for the first time, and I wanted to make
sure I wrote down somewhere the tweaks I made with Jordan to the Lulzbot at
Sudo Room.
After the move, we discovered things had been jostled enough that a bed
leveling would be required. We set to work, and in the process discovered
that one of the mounting brackets was loose because the one bolt holding it
to the platform had fallen out. I then noticed that the brackets had holes
for two bolts, but the …
[View More]second bolts (the ones without springs) on every
bracket came up from the bottom, providing minimal anchoring to the
platform. I went through all the brackets and switched the bolts around so
that both come down through the bracket into the platform, then completely
re-leveled the entire bed, including a re-setting of the Z stop screw.
I shifted the entire platform down by a few mm in the process, so that the
bracket that had fallen out would have a bit more bolt holding it in place.
As it turns out, there's a pretty big discrepancy in the height of the
platform between the (looking down at the platform) bottom left and bottom
right (the one that fell out) brackets, so getting the bottom right one to
stay in place required tightening the bottom left bracket as far as the
spring would let me.
A test print confirmed that things are very close to level at this point
and adhesion at the center is good. I'd estimate within 0.1mm across the
entire platform. Please let me know if I can help in any other way!

Thank you!!! You saved the TAZ yet again!
There was a problem where the fan in the TAZ 3d printer's power supply got
stuck, with the tips of the fan blades getting caught on the sharp edge of
the transformer.
This was due to an imperfect design in the cheap knockoff power supply,
coupled with an unlucky slight change in position of the cover (where the
fan is mounted) relative to the circuitboard holding the transformer.
There was no way to bend the cover away to seperate the two things, so i
filed off the tips of the fan blades …
[View More]so they would not catch on the edge
of the transformer. I think this will fix the problem.
At least one print failed because the power supply overheated and
presumably shut down until it cooled off. This shouldn't happen again but
if it does please post about it or tell me.
happy printing!

so i tried to edit the wiki page for the brother printer, here:
https://sudoroom.org/wiki/Brother_HL-2270DW
i wanted to put in a prominent thing called "HELP! how do i stop it
printing stuff nobody wants?" and i sortof did, but i didn't know what the
proper instructions were.
the other day, it was spitting out a million copies of something that
someone tried to print earlier, while the network was down.
we tried turning off the printer and waiting, but it would just start
right back up …
[View More]when we turned it back on - printing on both sides of nice
blank white paper.
I went to the printer's control page at http://192.168.1.8 but it wouldn't
allow me to do anything with the user login, and the admin login was
unknown so i couldn't try that.
then i emptied the print spool on the computer that the jobs had come
from, with lprm - to cancel all jobs (and there were several) but it
didn't seem to have any effect.
this is the nightmare that comes with WIRELESS networked printers. that
is, if you think printing on both sides of papers until the printer
decides it's done (how many times did the person try to print before
giving up?) is a nightmare.
i wish printers had an "expire jobs" setting so that they wouldn't try to
print stale jobs from hours ago.
so... can someone put instructions on the wiki on cancelling print jobs?
thank you
