I work in start-ups and have seen a lot of start-up stuff. I realize now that I was unintentionally signing my email sig file with my company name on the sudo room discussion list. I hope it doesn't come off as tacky. I'm going to remove the "Founder" part.

Start-up Culture is not very creative to me. People like to talk about that world as if it were a big league football game. There are "winners" and "losers." There are "rockstars" and "cowboys." People are not so much creative as they are about posturing sometimes. I still like it, but when I come to sudo room I try to avoid bringing any of that start-up mentality with me.

It'd be like trying to sell sugar water products at a church benefit for little kids with diabetes.

I like a division between my pubilc and private life, and I do not come to Sudo room with the intention of talking too much business. It makes things healthier. Someone once told me that constantly networking and doing business in hacker spaces is unhealthy, like burning a candle at both ends. Sundays are for rest.
