infrared rework soldering station

  • a video of PDR IR-X110 Rework Station in use
  • File:PDRX110-IR Infrared Rework Station.pdf
  • this is for removing or replacing delicate surface-mount components including BGA chips like eMMC
  • we have two of them, the handpiece is similar on both, but the base and control are different
  • the handpiece contains a 150 watt 12 volt halogen bulb, inside a special expensive gold-foiled reflector
  • the light bulb is cheap and easy to find, the reflector is irreplacable
  • the handpiece rests in a cooling fan since it gets hot during use
  • the tip of the handpiece contains a piece of glass that blocks visible light (so you don't get blinded while using it)
