General How To

  • Create a new project.
  • Select which printer to use (the ones we have should be configured already as presets)
  • Import your .stl files (File > Import)
  • Manipulate your objects so they fit on the bed and aren't overlapping or hanging off. Orca should yell at you if this is the case.
  • At the top, click Preview, it should start slicing (the process of splitting your model into layers to print)
  • You may need to enable supports for some objects if there are overhangs.
  • It should show you a preview, with a list at the right showing how long each type of print will take. Notably, if you're printing multiple objects at once and there is a high amount of 'travel time,' sometimes this can be reduced by moving pieces closer together.
  • Click export gcode and save it to the computer.
  • Transfer it to the micro sdcard (the reader is the blue cable+dongle taped to the top of the screen) and take it to your printer to print.
