infrared rework soldering station
- a video of PDR IR-X110 Rework Station in use
- File:PDRX110-IR Infrared Rework Station.pdf
- this is for removing or replacing delicate surface-mount components including BGA chips like eMMC
- we have two of them, the handpiece is similar on both, but the base and control are different
- the handpiece contains a 150 watt 12 volt halogen bulb, inside a special expensive gold-foiled reflector
- the light bulb is cheap and easy to find, the reflector is irreplacable
- the handpiece rests in a cooling fan since it gets hot during use
- the tip of the handpiece contains a piece of glass that blocks visible light (so you don't get blinded while using it)
