Thanks for the article. I'm a member of the sudo mesh project.

A few quick notes:

* Please link to https://peoplesopen.net/ so folks can learn more about the
network and how they can participate!
* Please make clear that these are "planned" or "prospective" rather than
"current" nodes: Map showing current nodes of a planned wireless mesh

* The following section is slightly misleading since it could be
interpreted to mean we are testing the routers to place them in known
positions to provide internet. This is not the case, we are testing all the
nodes to ensure they work, and also will be setting up a small number of
them from just a few locations in Oakland as a test network before
expanding. Secondly, another potential interpretation is that the mesh's
internet connection will be provided specifically from Richmond, but this
is not yet fully determined. We have some great opportunities to connect to
networks in Richmond, but in actuality the network will likely be connected
to the internet more locally first, and even this is not totally locked in
exactly how internet connection will play out to begin.

"While the project is still in the early stages, the group has been busy
building the technological infrastructure, and is now entering the phase of
setting up and testing each of the rooftop routers. Once in place, the
routers will be able to provide free wireless Internet access to residents
by connecting with a public Wi-Fi tower located in Richmond."
