Great point. A lot of these announcements (for instance about the
creation of the omni lists) were in sudo's weekly meeting notes, but
should have been independent posts in their own right. There was a
great deal of concern about publicly announcing the list (which
previously had been called omni-delegates) these past few weeks upon
discovering that someone familiar with our projects and processes was
bidding on the building in competition. Previous to that, communication
flows "to the internet" were a source of concern given the owners'
previous experiences with other potential buyers over-hyping the
project before a deal had been closed.

Many folks, especially sudo folks, have called for an end to the
perpetuity of fear and have been working hard to increase transparency
(for instance, creating the wiki, being thorough note-takers, hosting
an open hackathon/unconference) - and last week sudo essentially called
for a deadline to keeping things on the DL.

That deadline was Friday ('Omni update' posted by yar), and we are now
moving forward on signing the lease.

A reminder that Omni meetings are open meetings every Thursday starting
at 7pm (6:30 for newcomers orientation) in the common space or the
public school room if the common space is too noisy.

See the calendar for a schedule of upcoming meetings, general and
working group-related. Each event listed is a wiki page with that
meeting's notes: http://wiki.omni-oakland.org/w/Calendar

As sudo's relatively new "official" delegate, i'm available as a point
person for relaying any questions or feedback about omni-related issues
- - and I hereby vow to level up communication from omni --> sudo. I
would also be happy to rotate to a new delegate if someone's interested
in taking it on. We would need to vote on this at a weekly sudo meeting.

Love and solidarity,
Jenny
