Hi Jesse!

This sounds exciting and I look forward to hearing more about it. Would you be able to attend next week's mesh meetup for 20 minutes to tell us more about your work, project, and thoughts moving forward?

I want to caution, before you move too far along with your production plans, that we have not officially consented on this project and would need to do so before we could allow you to begin regularly filming our processes. I would like to encourage you to post your proposal to the list and field questions, and then visit and introduce yourself to the group, before beginning any further filming of sudomesh.

Thank you,

Jenny

Thanks for the update! So much awesomeness going on Jenny! I also wanted to introduce myself to the list seeing as how I've been to a couple of #mesh meetings by now but only met a handful of you...I'm an Oakland-based filmmaker (I live down the block) obsessed with the intersection of society, culture, and technology. I've been so warmly received by everyone whom I've met and want to thank you all for that. And I want to see the mesh succeed!

It's timely to let everyone know I have begun making a (feature-length) documentary about the mesh project, and other mesh projects around the world. This will be a topical deep-dive into this specific topic, separate but alongside Noemie's Sudo Room project at large. So, I am looking to document all aspects of the process! Obviously meetings are a great place to start, but I would like to capture stuff going on out in the 'real' world in addition - dumpster diving expeditions for equipment, site visits, antenna/node installation days (west oak?), tests, everything! I would ask that anyone who's doing anything outside of mesh meetings give me a heads up so I can (if you're willing) come along and document the happenings. I wanna catch all this as it's happening so nothing gets missed :)

Although I can't make tonight's meeting, I'll be hard at work this weekend ramping up to begin production full-scale. I hope to meet and interview some or most of you at some point - so please feel free to reach out if you've got some spare time or won't be able to see me at the next mesh meeting (where I'll do most of the interviews).

Cheers!

It's been a crazily active summer - apologies for the lack of updates! Sudo Room (and by extension, Sudo Mesh) has relocated to the Omni Oakland Commons at 4799 Shattuck.
