Mesh/Local servers

List information about preparation, deployment, and usage of computer devices as local servers connecting to the people's open network, especially supplying data or running mesh apps.

While some services and software may be run on the mesh nodes, there are limitations. Examine the following lists of packages:

Further, the cost of installing new packages includes the cost of upgrading the firmware for every network device.

For these and more reasons, it will be not only critical, but advantageous to run local servers, connected to a mesh node, for many purposes—from environmental sensors to web servers that run mesh apps.

Server Hardware

    • USB devices can be unreliable.
  • BeagleBone
    • Dan is working with one of these to run the firmware as well.
