Newbie Night

Sometimes sudoers host "Newbie Night" events to explicitly welcome new folks to sudo room in an "open house" style.

In order to ensure our commitment to public access and also to grow membership, sudoers have been volunteered to host a newbie night each week.

Ideas

Here's a list of ideas of things to do for newbie nights:

• Give a tour of sudo room
• Give a tour of The Omni
• Show newbies how to become a member, in case they want to join
• Let newbies know how sudo room participates in The Omni, and how they can participate as well
• Showcase member projects
• Walk through event calendar
• Answer questions
• Share what a "hackerspace" (or specifically "sudo room") means to you!
• Ask for attendees' email addresses and follow-up after the event
