At this point it really should become 'This Month in Mesh!' but I'll keep the bar high for now and hope to get back on track with weekly updates ;)
Announcements:
Hack night tomorrow night (Thursday)! We convene at 7:30pm at Sudo Room (located at 2141 Broadway in Oakland) and typically go late. Come hack on firmware, our shiny new websites, our community outreach plan - whatever your interest / skill set, there is plenty for you to do!
We are officially SUDO MESH! - and the network we're building is People's Open Network. While the network itself remains free and open to anybody, we encourage other organizations to form that maintain and support the network in diverse ways!
Events:
Tonight, 10/16 from 7-10pm, Open Garden is hosting an event demoing the Open Garden mobile mesh software followed by an open discussion on mesh technologies. Location is at a start-up live/work space at 20th and Mission in SF (20mission). RSVP here: http://www.meetup.com/Tech-Garden-SF/events/143141932/
Friday, 10/18 from 6-9pm we will be hosting an Oakland Map Jam to document the shared resources of Oakland - from coops to community gardens, hackerspaces to free schools and everything related to sharing and commons-based resources. Join us!
