Sounds fun! That kit looks like it's more for learning than for
long-term reliability. I'd go on youtube and find people who have
reviewed some of the more affordable options.
Wind is always going to be quite a bit more expensive than solar for
small stuff like this but aliexpress and ebay have some affordable
kits that might be viable.
