Someone had a question about roof walking.
They are about 20 bucks it’s a metal eye you can tie a rope too you lift a roof tile, attach to something solid like a stud which can be found at joints on the roof or every 24 or 16” inches.. attach rope with bowline if not used to knots, attach to harness, voila you’re a piñata if you fall. lol. but hell if the roof is less than 8/12 pitch, just walk it, normal shoes should be fine.
I’m very glad to see progress down there, you guys have such an awesome attitude.
The guide is coming along well, and is almost ready to be released. If anyone wanted to get on board the apis are finished and working on UI now, could always use help (:
I have property here by Portland and in Joshua Tree where projects have begun. I have housing if anyone needs it, is what I’m saying.
Much love

i'm trying to use a mesh router to operate a duck coop door, and this means i
want the USB port to recognize an ACM serial port. This is a normal thing for
openWRT and usually works thusly:
opkg update # downloads opkg package lists to /tmp
opkg install kmod-usb-acm # installs a kernel module for ACM serial USB devices
unfortunately, there are some problems with present mesh node firmware
(including a node that was flashed in December 2015 and another which was
flashed recently) and this process doesn't work.
for starters, the opkg.conf on mesh nodes is messed up - i'm not sure why but
there's a github issue here:
https://github.com/sudomesh/sudowrt-firmware/issues/108
to get "opkg update" to work, follow the instructions in the first comment.
That works for me, but when i do "opkg install kmod-usb-acm" i get the
following error:
# opkg install kmod-usb-acm
Installing kmod-usb-acm (3.18.23-1) to root...

i have no idea what this error means or why it's happening, can anyone offer
advice?
thank you,

Hello Sudoroom folks,
I hope you don't mind me sending this email to the list, but I hope some of
you could help these students.
Please, when you get a chance, see the details+images on this page I put
together.
https://www.youcaring.com/help-escuela-chajsaquil-recover-from-flood
The short version is that, on October 5th, a tropical storm flooded the
Escuela Mixta Official Barrio Chajsaquil and their already old furniture
got ruined even more. How I learned about this is because I joined their
Facebook group after meeting its principal and knowing the building itself
when I was traveling in Guatemala in Dec. 2016.
This time I was wondering if you know of someone/organization/company that
could help the school economically to bring these students new desks, and
other needed school furniture. The list its in the fundraising page linked
above. If so, please share the link and this email if you want.
In regards of donors wanting a tax exempt form, I am in the process of
getting approved by OmniCommons. So they can be the financial sponsor; so
Omni be the one sending the money to the school. We are open to the
person/organization/company also being the direct donors to the school
itself.
The school location:
Escuela Official Barrio Chajsaquil
San Pedro Carcha, Alta Verapaz
Guatemala
Thank you, and thank you for all you do to make this world a better place.
Sincerely,
Daniel Arauz

Hi there,
Would someone be interested in answering questions for a free meal ?
I would like to start a mesh network in Paris and I'd like to know more
about antennas, servers, legal issues...
I am available tomorrow or next week after 6:30pm.
Thanks,
Keo

What's up with this? You may want to Check your node. The one I have has
this constant connection to a Server log ("100.64.0.10:514")?
Are all PON nodes pushing logs to a remote location, or is t just me?
I SSH to my PON node and while checking for current connections I see this
established connection "100.64.0.10:514 (Syslog Server?)?
Been refreshing for about 20+ minutes and the connection seems constant.
Can someone please explain this?
Daniel
This thread is for tracking our grant.
We've submitted our "intent to apply", and we are waiting to receive our
invitation to "submit to stage one". The last day to submit the "intent
to apply" is October 15th, so we should confirm our submission is good
before then. Marc J is checking on this.
The next stage is submitting our application to the Design Concept Stage
by November 15th. I'll be emailing a document where we can collaborate
on writing this.
Pending confirmation from Dév who lives there, this Sunday's planned
mounting will take place at:
2:00 PM
1 Canyon Road, Berkeley
(Directly behind the stadium.)
Meet at Sudo Room 1-ish or meet at the house. Entrance is away from the
road/ not that obvious, mind.
l'm driving probably.
Whoever is coming please reply off list, or not.
