I'm a commercial AV Integrator interested in using my extensive
installation skills for good. I can build just about anything, and
terminate cables like a professional (cause I am!) I can definitely devote
a few hours a week to pasting equipment on rooftops (or whatever
fabri-cobbling is required), have lots of my own tools and PPE, can run a
crew, am certified on all lifts and booms, and can improvise
fabrication-wise like a champ. Plus, I'm really pissed off about the
internet monopoly in this country and aims to do something about it.
How can I help, in my off hours and the weekend?

We had a request for how to connect a home node to internet via wifi
instead of via ethernet. This is not currently supported using the built-in
web ui so i wrote up a short guide:

Hello All
I recently joined this list after learning about the sudomesh project on
reddit. I'm interested in learning more about hosting a node. The wiki
page that describes this (

location to the map, but the map link is out of date. Can anyone advise
please the most current procedure for this?

peer-to-peer mapping for environmental monitoring in parts of South
America.
Dd is looking for someone who is interested in traveling to the
savannahs of southern Guyana and set up long-distance wifi connections
for indigenous communities. They're looking for volunteers for a trip in

Pretty good! Though the word "mesh" gets repeated so often it stopped
making sense to me. I think we should try to push "community network" more.

if you didn't know, sudomesh recently acquired the domain
buildyourowninter.net (thanks jenny!). We've tossed around a lot of ideas,
most involve making it some sort collaborative resource for, well, building
your own internet, but we have yet to do anything with it. We are looking
for advice, suggestions, input, help, inspiration, pizza. Feel free to
