I'm super interested in learning too, but depending on the level you're
already at, some of the resources on the wiki might be helpful:
I'd be very interested in attending a detailed
technical session about
how mesh networks work. Stuff like the actual routing protocols,
network addressing, etc.

That seems like a great place to start. People can get up to speed
faster and learn the basics.
I'm still not quite sure why a new firmware is being developed?
Can someone shed some light on that?

++!
We could probably have a whole TIL just about explaining what
mesh networks are, how they work, and then a hands-on workshop
for flashing routers with OpenWRT...

No I agree with you that it would be good to have the
firmware v0 ready
before the TIL. I suppose that makes it a little hard to
pick a
specific date considering we might not know exactly when
it would be
ready to go.
On that note, I'd be super interested tonight to sketch
out some
ideas/plans for what needs to happen to get to that place.

Hey so I was thinking about some of the things that
were
percolating
during the last meeting and I was wondering
if folks
thought it
might be
a good idea to host an upcoming "Today I Learned"
session. There are a
bunch of open slots in the next couple of
months and
it looks like
there's a lot of enthusiasm about mesh
stuff among
the sudo crowd.
Great idea!
I'd love to have a version 0 of our firmware ready for
people
before
then. Do you think it would be useful to do the
TIL
before we have a
firmware for people?
