Hi!
That is what killed the OLPC as a viable mesh network
platform -
every OLPC was both a client and a mesh node, and the network
overhead crushed the wireless network.
Just for the record, there were many more issues with OLCP why things
didn't work. One channel ad-hoc mesh networks do work, but of course
much worse than multiple channel. And of course you cannot put all nodes
into one room. But when they are obstacles, houses, walls and stuff, it
works good enough.
