This is very interesting...
I send application for MeshPoint as soon as I saw it yesterday as it
exploded on Reddit.
Almost as soon as I started pitching MeshPoint around and getting no
interest because we are open source and open hardware project I knew
that only was to fund development would be by some Bitcoin impact
investor or donor.
Pitches at accelerators that I have been to are like watching Shark
tank. They ask you how can you prevent people to copy your idea and do
you own patents to your idea, and when I tell them that I want anyone
who is interested in this project to copy is and contribute to it they
loose any interest in giving money :)
Is situation in US any different? In EU so far we didn't find anyone
who understands open source business models, and especially not if you
are an open hardware project, like we are with MeshPoint.
