I like the idea of busting out the hardware and at least confirming that it
works across a room, then stepping outside and testing if we can establish
a connection between two parked cars.

And if it wouldn't work to do a p2p link, how far can we get, and maybe
find some allies on the way? (eg the apt bldg across the street that used
to have gear?)
Per gMaps it looks like a straight shot, however are there hills, tall
buildings, trees, etc? Is there a way to ascertain this online?
In the meantime, I just did a quick G street view, and it looks like the
building right across on 47th and perhaps a billboard or 2 might be the
only tall/blockers, I'm not sure what that means the options are, going in
front, going over, otherwise? (On shattuck) Also where does Omni have mesh
connections with in the neighborhood, would it make more sense to go from
there?

Just to be clear, we don't have much
expectation of success having a
network
link down Shattuck Avenue, especially the 1.2 miles to Long Haul (and I
think
there's a hill in the way) but it will be fun to attach nodes to cars with
sunroofs and try stuff.
I think the best bet is to try to pair up with EBDCR, which is basically
across
the street. We need to contact LMI and establish that EBDCR is eligible
and
whether 1G or 10G (although either would be fine)
one reason we need it to be LMI is because Sonic and AT&T don't allow
"sharing"
of a connection and LMI does. But also LMI is local and cool and Sonic is
corporate and AT&T is literally the devil. But all three companies sell
AT&T's
infrastructure.

Or would you be able to

Thx!
