Brainstorming in-person UX to solve real Problems and people in Oakland

What if we did UX design that matters in in-person workshops?

We met up this week to brainstorm potential in-person workshops at the SudoRoom around speculative design and UX designs for underserved populations in our local Oakland community!

Focus Group: Immigrants

We all know that immigrants are among the most innovative people in our community with regards to technology–immigrants were using photo-sharing, mobile payments and video chat long before mainstream America was. They are also the most exploited and vulnerable people, despite contributing so much financially and culturally to our city.

We’d also like to show how User Experience and designers can work collaboratively with not only engineers and non-profits but also with urban planners to make a safer, more healthy community for the good of all! Send suggestions and feedback, and we’ll keep you updated, as ideas plant seeds that grow into reality that make dreams come true!
