I talked to Monkeybrains and Comcast today.
Monkeybrains are coming to West Oakland in a couple of months and I told
them about the Omni and that we could maybe come to an agreement if they
want to put in fiber and service the neighboring apartment buildings. They
noted it down but seemed only slightly interested and said to check back in
two months.
Comcast claims to have a 2 gigabit connection available at the Omni
building. It would cost $1k in installation and $320 per month. They have a
separate team that deals with gigabit and that team will call me in the
next two days. I'm going to get them to send me the contract so we can
check it over before signing up, but this seems like a really good way to
go until we can find something better.

In my effort to better understand kernel networking and babeld, I
shared babeld-lab during last night mesh sesh (and got a bunch of
help!):
https://github.com/jhpoelen/babeld-lab
The idea is that you can run a virtualized babel mesh on a linux and
play around with it without jumping straight into messing with
hardware.

Some of us are going to Cyberdelia at DNA lounge tonight at 10 pm:

Planning to leave sudo room around 9:30 pm. We'll probably just take the
BART and walk the rest of the way there.

Hey Jenny,
I heard you were doing the promotional stuff for the mesh and more.
I want to collaborate before I start anything, so you have a good time to
touch base at sudo room or the like?
If not, feel free to email me..

Hey y'all:
I was thinking to mention the 4 March "Create your own internet" at
some events tonight / weekend (https://sudoroom.org/wiki/Mesh/07_Februa
ry_2017). Is there some sudomesh flyer I can re-use/re-purpose for this
event?
