Our connection is terrible for livestreaming. There are two possible
solutions I can think of:
1) limiting some large portion of our available upstream to a wired
connection only. not sure this is possible (cc'ing the mesh crew),
2) we could use a portable hotspot. i believe AT&T has good 4G coverage at
Omni, so I can pay a bit more money for my smartphone bill this month and
we can use it as a hotspot.
1 Mbps x 60 seconds x 60 minutes x 3 hours = 10,800 / 8bits per byte =
1.3GB of data
Totally doable, though a backup or two would be great!

Marc can't make it due to work, and I'm on the fence as I'm curled up with
a space heater and a good book. Anyone else planning to come by?

I can't make it today (sunday) for node mounting.
If someone else wants to bottom-line it, then speak up and it can still
happen.
I was hoping we could do a quick mount on the Omni roof, and while I did
manage to go on the roof and figure out where to mount the node and talk to
the landlord, he wanted a drawing and written explanation before approving
anything.
We have a node lined up for the coming week, and maybe we can do the Omni
mount on the same day.
Sorry for the short notice.

hi everybody,
I'd like to join the mesh network. I live on Broadway and Ocean View and
have a nice view of downtown Oakland as well as of Berkeley from our porch.
I'm planning to buy a router and bring it to the sudo room to get it set up
on the Sunday after next.
I met Mark and Dan at the sudo room tonight and they recommended I buy the
Nanobridge M5.
I see there's a 22 and 25 decibel version.
Is the M5-25 the right router to buy?

Hi-
Am looking for a couple mesh-experienced engineers to help build a startup
internet access business. Looking for 1 hardware and probably 2 software
engineers to disrupt Xfinity & TW. Reply off list to chris(a)holofy.com if
interested.

Hi friends,
who's up for some JSON?
We are trying to define a few JSON formats to interchange networking
data so that we can allow different projects to talk to each other.
Here's the idea: https://github.com/interop-dev/json-for-networks
Do you know anyone that is particularly interested in standardizations
of this kind?

I set up a wiki page to docment the mounting I have in mind with
dimensions, parts list, etc.
Check it out at: https://sudoroom.org/wiki/Rooftop_Dish_Antenna_Mount
I plan to get to sudoroom around noonish so we can organize and build the
platform.
And, while I'd like to have a full-on party to celebrate this installation,
it's not really appropriate for the scene around my house. I get the
feeling a lot of folks would like to participate but I think 4 people would
be plenty enough. I am hoping we can get the platform built and staged
enough so that our rooftop work amounts to less than 30 minutes.
Thanks,
Chris.
Running a bit late today...
