Hi Sudo meshers,
I had a great time helping install the Ethernet with you and wanted to
thank everyone for such a fun day today. I learned a lot I didn't know, and
I'm always gratefull for to learn from those opportunities.
I really appreciated the chance to follow the installation with you, and
learning the openwrt flashing and soldering the tp-link boards, really
expanded my technological horizons. Special thanks to Max and Mark for
showing me the ins and outs of cabling/routers/re-configuring wrt power
supplies, etc.!
Thanks to everyone for coming and doing so much work!
I'm calling it a night. We had six routers and five long ethernet cables to
run to cover a 22,000 square foot building!
Here's what we accomplished today:
* Completed: Two ballroom ethernet cable runs: One at each end of ballroom.
* Completed: One ethernet cable run to far end of disco room (except
crimping)
* Completed: One ethernet cable run to Counter Culture Labs
* In progress: One ethernet cable run to basement (need long drill)
* In progress: One ethernet cable run to La Commune (unsure how far it got)
* Two routers mounted on walls: Disco room and Counter Culture Labs
* All six routers modified for power over ethernet
* All six routers flashed with OpenWRT
Yay! Maybe next Sunday we can finish the remaining tasks:
* Finish last two cable runs
* Mount last four routers
* Configure routers (we might work on this Thursday)
