Hackerspaces are a hotbed of experimentation, I saw my first 3d printer at the  Noisebridge hackerspace in SF.  The maker movement is also playing with next generation toys like autonomous drones.  Makers and the hackerspaces they hang out in are toying with the tech of the future in a playful and informal way that allows everyone to participate.  A hackerspace is a great venue for a futurist meetup, there should be good synergy there.  Come join us and bring your own topics to expand the discussion.
