i have edited the access file so the several people who chose to "OPTOUT"
of the ANNOUNCE feature (in IRC) will be announced as "anonymous"
when adding new people to the system, be sure to ask them if they want to
be introduced in IRC by their handle or nickname. if they want to opt
out, just type "anonymous" without the quotes while you're setting them up
with the script.
if you edit the script by hand instead of using the
grant_access_to_last_failed_attempt script, just put #ANNOUNCE "anonymous"
before their name if they don't want to be identified.

Hi Yar,
the following door access code was removed since it corresponded to one of
the card readers' "error codes" from a bad read - meaning it was just
allowing anyone in if they swept their card right in the wrong way. or
wrong in the right way rather.
# gina, homes not jails - added by yar
b8548d912086cc19f0f4633a4307af3c35b6ea81
the recent update to sudoroom/doorjam would block such a code from being
acknowledged anyway, but i took it out for completeness. There may be
other such codes in the database (judith gips for example, i'm handling
that) but I don't have a way to check for them other than repeatedly
trying my card wrong until they come up.
i'm telling you because there was no contact info for "gina". in a lot of
entries there is also no info on who put the code in, just a name or
handle. for example, who is "horse"?

Hi Ryan,
my name is Jake and i'm an administrator of the Omni Commons front door
card-access system. I noticed that your card is setup without any
information other than your email address, so I wanted to ask you a couple
of things so I can fix that up.
1st, which Omni collective are you a member of? We need to put that in
there.
the other question is, what nickname or handle would you like the IRC
chatbot to announce you as (to the IRC chat) when you use your card?
If this creeps you out we can put "anonymous" so you're not identified.
Thank you!

Wanna write it up here? https://omnicommons.org/wiki/Keycards
What we really need is a simple web form with instructions followed by
these fields:
swipe time
name
omni affiliation
email
phone
preferred pseudonym (blank for "somebody")
I recommend having people CAREFULLY swipe their card at least 5 times in a
row without getting a red light any of those times (start over if they do)
even when i swipe a card for someone myself, carefully five times, i don't
always get five good reads! so i definitely think three times is not
enough.
also, everyone please remember to include a way to contact people AND
which collective they're a part of, and who you are, when you add them to
the access list.
