There is a Sudo Room mailing list for Art Murmur discussions, by the way (cc:ed).

Hi all!
Last week, we had a great gathering of folks - most of them new to the
space - who participated in the POSSE party sponsored by the BACE Timebank.
We got to know each other, shared food, then went around in a circle
listing things we were seeking / needed, and things we had to offer. It was
great fun and many friends were made!
That's to become a monthly 3rd Fridays event. There is also desire to do
something similar on First Fridays, but tailored more towards community
organizers to come, share food and resources, and engage in a sort of
'meta-organizing' event.
I am imagining that more in-depth conversations could potentially be had in
the Public School (I've bounced this off Mica from TPS but not the group
yet), while the common space could be for more for gallery- and demo-style
activities, with tours being given in sudo room proper. Would love to hear
your thoughts on this proposal!

Anyone thinking about stuff to do for Art Murmur, on the 5th? It is definitely still happening, though the city can't afford to close the street; I guess it costs like $25,000 per each event! I'm planning to go in and clean the community room a bit beforehand, and if I can, bring some art. If I can get all the parts ready, I'd like to set up a
zootrope with a turntable and strobe light, so that people can make their own claymation. It's super fun for all ages.
If anyone else has ideas or stuff to bring that would be awesome. Hope to see you all there.

Could we get volunteers to play the piano if we wheeled it outside tomorrow evening? Could be a neat way to invite passers-by at Art Murmur up to our space. I was thinking at the 22nd St. entrance, since Broadway might get complicated.

We should invite Marcia and the EFF folks out to publicize this important corporate socially responsible technology report launch. Any interest?

Perhaps we can add as socio-reputational incentive:
a roll-through wall display of Sudo Room donation contributors this month at the next Art Murmur event.

We are scheduled to have a screening of:
http://www.moneyandlifemovie.com/
I suggest we make an effort to set up art pieces to decorate the screening
room and a a classy refreshments stand. I've offered to coordinate with
Kevin, a sudoer who works for the group that is promoting the documentary.

Today's oakland tribune article on first friday capture the politics
coming to a head this week surrounding art murmur, the police, etc..
Here's a snippet and a link below.

OAKLAND -- First Fridays were an unabashed bonanza for bars, restaurants
and Oakland pride until a teenager was fatally shot at the most recent
event.
With the monthly festival scheduled to return this week, excitement is
tinged with anxiety as doubts remain over whether organizers can handle
another massive crowd.
"I crossed my fingers that it might rain and everyone could catch their
breath and figure out how to handle this in a better way," said John
Mardikian, whose Telegraph Avenue restaurant and beer garden counts on
the festivals for about one-quarter of total sales.
Adding to concerns, an offshoot of Occupy Oakland has called for an
anti-police march through downtown Oakland from 7 to 10 p.m. that night.
