Hi!
Pre-requisite: $member of $community teaches
$community about what
the mesh is, what it does, and what it can do for them. $community
grows to trust the technology and incorporates it into everyday
life. If they don't trust it and don't know the person who introduced
it, they're not going to trust or use it.
I would disagree. Knowing the technology is important, and required for
long term sustainability of the network, but at this step is not yet
required. Community gets free Internet and easily see what it can do for
them. Then it gets interested and then you get few people interested in
technological aspect of it.
Pre-requisite: People in the now-connected area are
brought into the
fold. They have to take care of the hardware in their area and
derive significant value from using the mesh network. If they don't,
if it dies they move on and do something else.
If there is their Internet connection, then they fix it. If they share
their Internet connection because they believe in it, they will fix it,
if fix is simple (for example, just replacing the equipment). The latter
can be automatized.
