Daniel,
Marc brought an approximately 2 foot long drill bit, but it still wasn't
long enough to drill all the way through.
I managed to make it work. The cable has been run. It was a super annoying
run both due to the hole being problematic and because the TIL office had
lots of little nooks and crannies and was fully of stuff that needed moving
around.
Other stuff we did today:
Bought more CAT6 (non-shielded since that was all we could get on a Sunday)
and female CAT6 connectors.
Drilled the long hole for the basement cable but it might not quite be wide
enough (since that cable is shielded CAT6) so we will probably need a
slightly wider diameter very long drill bit.
Finished running the CCL node cable.
Crimped the ends for the CCL node and the Disco Room node.
Still To Do:
Add female ethernet ports to each end of La Commune to Public Terminals
cable
Mount La Commune node on wall
Finish running the basement cable.
Mount basement node.
Run a cable up over the upstairs bathroom, above the false ceiling and
terminate at the upstairs public terminals. We will place a switch here
which will connect to the cable going to La Commune via the TIL office.
This should be a fairly easy run as only about 1/3 of the total run needs
to be run nicely along a wall with cable clip nails.
Test all cables and apply PoE.
Configure all nodes.
