I flashed a new router tonight, and here is my so so report.
1. Uploading not working on Ubuntu Spanish version, I used Firefox.
After five or six resets and not being able to upload the firmware, I
switched to a MacOS machine.
It just came to mind that, perhaps, Firefox in the Ubuntu machine, needed
JavaScript enabled.
2. Using Brave browser, on MacOS Mojave 10.14.6, the upload and countdown
worked on the first try, and the rest of the process went fine.
3. It produces a bit of wonder when connected to the PON SSID was just
out, and not connecting to the Internet yet.
I didn't know how long would the auto-configuration would take. Even now I
am not sure how long it took. 15mins? 10?
4. About the paragraph that says:
“Note: If you installed release 0.3.0
<https://github.com/sudomesh/sudowrt-firmware/releases/tag/0.3.0> for myNet
N600 routers, your node can be autoconfigured. You will not need to use the
previous solution makenode, otherwise you may need to read the (instructions
further down
<https://sudoroom.org/wiki/Mesh/WalkThrough#Makenode_.28v.0.2.3_and_earlier.29>
*)”* Can that all be removed or modified with something shorter or like
this?: Note: If you did NOT install release 0.3.0
<https://github.com/sudomesh/sudowrt-firmware/releases/tag/0.3.0> for myNet
N600 routers, please skip this section and go to step: “Blah Blah”.
5. An observation:. When connected the node, via ssh, I found the "
config_succeeded" file with instructions on how to update passwords, and
says to delete the line that reads "* */12 * * * /opt/mesh/pw_reset"
But, when checking cron, the only line there says: "0 * * * *
/opt/mesh/pwd_reset"
6. I am not modifying anything on the wiki, but i am providing some photos
taken tonight during the flashing of the router. Feel free to use them if
you want. Location:

Thanks!

Glad folks are finding it useful! I'll probably be
running another install
soon, so I'll see if anything comes up. Please add notes too!
As for the video, I think the fastest solution is to upload a screenshot
as a thumbnail and link it to the full video on the peoples open website.
Otherwise, yeah I believe you have to install an extension for either
YouTube, embedded video, or embedded iframes.

This is awesome, thank you Matt!!! (and hi D

Robb and I worked on a walkthrough video last year, which we should
probably link
to (can we embed youtube videos on mediawiki pages?) - It's
on this page and I'll put it in this thread for reference to add when I
have more time (unless someone beats me to it ;):
