SudoRoom Visits the Oakland 16th Street Station

Arts and collaboration around the historic Oakland 16th street train station

Our SudoRoom members visited the Oakland 16th street station, which is full of history during the open doors event. Checking my notes but the remarkable speaker at the beginning of the tour created amazing historical light projection projects in the 1990s on the face of the building back when the tech was way more expensive.

During COVID the theater group had folks sit outside in cars to watch the exhibit which was quite innovative:

A step inside the station – we had to have timed and guided tours due to safety concerns.

Imagine if this place were used for the community – even as a big nightclub! It’s definitely one of the more beautiful places in the SF Bay Area, an area with way too many parking lots and strip malls, and it’s loaded with history.
