We now have Thursday morning sessions for Coffee and algorithms with a mission to put the joy back in programming algos and banish the soul-sucking leetcode process. Algorithms are not only good for you, they’re fun!
Our first event around cliques and graph algorithms went well.
As usual there were minimal screens. In-person whiteboarding led to a lot of interesting discussions. Most people haven’t white boarded in a while, and it’s just so, so much better doing it in-person than on an electronic computer screen.
At the end of the morning we all left feeling satisfied and ready to turn the “grind” into a fun game. 🙂 I’m not sure what happened to turn something so interesting into something so demoralizing and hated. This stuff is cool!
And since we are STEAM not STEM we interwove a lot of interesting discussions around philosophy, religion and art into the theme for next week: REVOLUTION!
