For some reason even minor tweaks to the old code are producing
different hashes. It doesn't make any sense to me. I reverted all the
changes and will try again later.
I'm still having the same problem. Seems like the hardware is just too
flaky, except when I revert the code it's not *quite* as flaky
anymore. Might be a timing issue? Hopefully not, because that'd make
most of our existing hashes worthless. Until we can get the card
reader can give reliable deterministic outputs, I don't have much hope
for this.
