Project: AI + Refugee Camp Girl Game
This week’s women and non-binary hack night continues the theme of peace from last week’s event.
For those interested, we’ll be creating a AI powered refugee simulation featuring a female UN Peacekeeper and a refugee girl searching for water for her family based on the Columbia University project ReliefSim.
We’ll be using AI agents, maybe some RAG, and more all with open source!
Participation: In-Person with Humans
This is an in-person, non remote face to face meetup with a de-emphasis on screens. You can join in on the AI Workshop with agents or just hack on whatever your heart desires, as there are tons of electronic parts and equipment all around us!
Hack on What you Want
Since this is mostly screen-free and face to face, this frees up the meeting for everyone to work on whatever they want and participate at will!
The SudoRoom has hardware of all types: analog audio, soldering tools, a lasercutter, and more! So this isn’t just a software workshop.
Hardware Hacking
Poke around our wiki to see all the cool toys we have!
- We have a bunch of tools on our wiki such as the Big Red Laser Cutter https://sudoroom.org/wiki/Big_red_laser_cutter
- Yes, we have 3D printers! https://sudoroom.org/wiki/Printing
- Browse older projects and get them jump-started again like the Hack Pack https://sudoroom.org/wiki/Hackpack
Theme: it changes every week
Each week we will explored a different theme, always related to open source, using software and hardware tech for good, and being all around excellent!
exploring the tools means we won’t have to say yes all the time
This workshop is an exploratin of what’s out there! It does not mean that we think we have to use technology all the time! We are strong believes in appropriate technology, and that not all technology is necessary for all groups at all times, especially collectivist non-profits.
However, we should also be informed as we will see more and more AI in everyday life in the government, non-profits and corporations. By understanding how these tools work we can have better debates and make wiser choices.
Why is Open-Source Good?
Come to our meetup and we’ll tell you why!
