There will be food and an epic first-time meet-and-greet for people

Hey all,
Event site: http://2014.ba.chgrp.org/
In do-ocratic fashion, please accept this Invitatation and Call for
Participation in the first BACH Unconference, held at sudo room's new
location, The Omni!
Sudo Room and Omni folks are happy to host this event, and I am personally
very excited to give this a first shot and improve BACH happenings moving
forward, all feedback welcome at all times!
Event Details:
Oct 11-12 (Sat & Sun)
@ The Omni Oakland Collective
4799 Shattuck Ave
Oakland, CA 94610
Register now: http://2014.ba.chgrp.org/
Create the schedule: http://piratepad.net/bach2014
Almost NOTHING is scheduled on the agenda, and most of the activity will be
specified by YOU asap, or on the day we all arrive together! There is no
need to worry, I'm sure sitting down in a room with hackers from all over
the bay will be productive in and of itself. On the other hand, if you want
to showcase projects, host certain kinds of longer-form sessions, or
otherwise contribute to the program, please make it known and prepare!
Finally, feel free to use this thread to discuss more details and hash out
this unconference and more BACH happenings!

Show up and learn about Sudo Room! Make friends. Have fun.
I'll be hosting. We encourage other collectives to host similar events for
the community (and each other) to learn about us.
Join LocalWiki and Code for San Francisco for a day of sharing knowledge on
government services! From bike lanes to healthcare, you may be surprised
what resources our local government helps to provide. You may even surprise
all of us with what you know!
We'll be adding our knowledge to the San Francisco LocalWiki (
http://localwiki.net/sf), a collaborative community website where people
share all kinds of information about the city of San Francisco. Bring a
laptop if you have one, but we'll also have plenty to work on together.
*This is a free event! Childcare and lunch (vegan & gluten-free available)
will be provided.* We'll have expert LocalWikians on hand to help
participants.
*RSVP: *http://cityknowledgeshare.splashthat.com/
*DATE:* Saturday, August 23rd
*TIME: *10:00am - 5:00pm
*LOCATION:* Code for America, 155 9th St, San Francisco (directions

Sudoers,
Our first weekly meeting in the new space is _tonight_, 7pm at 4799
Shattuck!
Come see the new space and let's begin to envision what it is to become.
This is an exciting time!
If you can't make it tonight, no worries! We are having a potluck with our
fellow collective member-groups as well as some of the neighbors starting
at 7pm _tomorrow_. Bring a dish or some beverages to share!
Cheers,
Jenny

Sudoers!
Yes, all of *you*!
Sudo Room is MOVING to 4799 Shattuck, a place formerly known as The Ligure
Club, and later as *The Omni*.
Sudo Room has co-formed The Omni Collective, which will maintain a space to
share and commune, hosting ~10 collectives, projects, and organizations.
There we will forge a commons.
The Omni Collective acts as a spokes-council for its member-groups; yet it
requires participation from all of us to function and grow.
Please join the effort:
1. Help Sudo Room Move!
1. Contact Jordan (yardenack(a)gmail.com) ASAP to coordinate/contribute.
2. Schedule:

yes, please! i'd like to pull off as many complete sets of tower, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and do a quick check. we can probably just use a marker rather than printing labels unless it's something you want to persist like with the labitat 2d barcodes. the label maker was on the shelf behind the mesh stuff last i saw
cheers

Hey all,
Tensions have been running high for some at sudo room these days.
*EVERYONE* should celebrate the love and support that truly flows from and
through the sudo community. This spirit is real and deserves designation,
vindication.
In this regard, please hear these sentiments from a discussion at our
weekly meeting this evening:
1. Let us be explicit: we have problems, including as of late the
over-use and abuse of our space by merely a small number of opportunistic
individuals, in spite and in the face of our community.
2. Together, let us raise our standards of expectation for use of the
sudo room space, for members and non-members alike! Let us make these
standards clear and known!
3. The time is nigh to organize and pack our things; we are moving, let
us leave this place with grace and arrive refreshed, prepared.
