Hello!
I am looking for a freelance product development engineer who has experience working with IOT, microcontrollers, and custom circuitry.
The project is an accessory for a musical instrument that is going to be scaled up and linked together for a large band of 100-200 instruments. There are prototypes that are about ~80% of the way finished, but we need another person with experience to really dial it in now. This is paid work, and we anticipate the project lasting between 1-3 months, but maybe less. The end product is going to be relatively high end for a professional band, so we really are looking for an engineer with experience, not your homie who likes to tinker with things.
Let me know if you are interested, or if you know someone who may fit the bill, thanks!
Regards,
Andrew

P.S. This is my first time posting here, so let me know if there's a better list for this kind of thing, thanks!
Hi All, I'm looking for a good selection of electronics parts (wire,
relays, breadboards, soldering supplies, enclosures, etc) to take an
Arduino project from prototype to something that can be moved around
without falling apart.
Anyhow, are there any local options for buying parts or do I have to go
online? Jameco looks great but is a bit far. Maybe Fry's? Anything else
closer and maybe more local?
Thanks in advance for any info.
Matt
Hi Folks,
Has anyone done fast fourier transform on arduino? Just starting a sound reactive LED project this morning and curious if anyone has played around with similar.
Cheers,
Hol
Hi Folks,
Almost done w/ PCB design. That's an ATMega328p processor and a ULN2003 for power output up to 3.5 amps out of the box. Still need to add some connectors for I2C and 12V, 5V. I usually use SAE connectors http://www.vetco.net/catalog/images/G-QD-10-2.jpg for my 12V loads but we could solder on a barrel jack, or just ship it with holes for DIY soldering of connectors. Suggestions?
Cheers,
Hol
Hi folks,
I have decided to suspend uC night at sudo room. The energy that we had at the first few meetups and the interest that was generated in the following months with new people coming in to see what it was all about just didn't translate into a community. I know a big part of this is due to me not making much of an effort outside of the limited slot of time allotted, specifically on documenting projects and following through with progress and results. Also, alot of time at the meetups wound up being spent on hardware in support of said projects, distracting from the theme. So I'm asking y'all for input based on your diverse experiences with various hackathons, meetups, discussions, repositiories, etc. I want to build a community around this but am not really sure where to start.
Some ideas:
-sudo room branded kits
-scheduling highlighted activities for each session - tutorials, discussions, product brainstorming, all hands on deck production runs
-more than zero documentation
-diversifying channels of outreach
-joint meetups with other groups
-asynchronous meetups for specific, multidisciplinary projects.
I want to re-tool and keep rolling with this. Please share your thoughts!
Thank you,
Hol
That's awesome - I'd love to see the code. That should give plenty of time to make some progress before the intro to control session begins - i have misc pin headers, etc as needed. whether we go directly from the rpi to the stepper motor driver or if we go through the MSP430 we can build a nice wiring harness and enclosure. There are a few project boxes floating around - if we use a small one, then the big one I brought in can still be used for the front door whenever we get around to it. fertilegrounds++

I'll be coming to MCH tonight as well; Ian and I have been slowly transplanting the inner door access and the grounds are now fertile to completely remove the TI board and run it over the Py instead.

Hi all!
Our lovely sudoor access system is currently broken. Things look okay from
the server side, so it's likely a hardware issue. Granted, the whole thing
is a bit janky, so I think it's finally time to upgrade to sudoor v2. I'd
like to fix it, but don't have experience, so I thought I'd come to

Hacking Night<https://sudoroom.org/ai1ec_event/microcontroller-hack-night/?instance_id=65…>tomorrow
and see what I can do. If anyone owns or could suggest where to
procure the following, that'd be rad!:
- thin and thick wire mounting materials
- male pinheaders to secure wires to the breadboard
- a case for the t1 microcontroller, and screws to mount it to the wall
- definitely some soldering to be done as well [we have the tools and
material for this at least]
