Hi friends!
Sunday, December 15 (a bit less than two weeks away) is the next
cryptoparty!
If you're explicitly CC'd on this message, that means you haven't
joined the sudo cryptoparty mailing list :( It is super low-traffic,
and intended for planning and ideas around our monthly cryptoparties.
I know Yardena has some great ideas on creating a wiki / powerpoint
[wikipoint] guide to common security vulnerabilities. I've been trying
to get in touch with Micah Lee about reprinting his fantastic guide to
crypto tools - if anyone wants to help make that happen, that would be
awesome!
Yardena also suggested a User and Developer track - segmented by 'how
can i be more secure today' and 'how can we help everyone be more
secure in the future.' I'd love to try this out!
User Track

Hey Jenny,
I don't think that Micah printed his guide in the first place, I think someone else
printed it and distributed it at the (A) bookfair. I think we can likely do the same,
since it's a Creative Commons work

Hi all!
Would there be any interest in a math track? I would be happy to talk
about some basic attacks on factorization and discrete log (rho, index
calculus, sieving, pohlig-hellman), and could talk about elliptic curves
and all that jazz if people are up for it.
I can't go on 12/15 but I'll show up this Sunday!

New subject: Cryptoparty outreach/targeting planning

Hi folks,
We've been talking for a long time about targeting cryptoparties at
specific communities, maybe doing one at a radical mosque, another at a
high school, another at an anarchist infoshop. And of course we don't
need to go anywhere, with the right contacts we could organize a
training/handholding day for journalists or any other industry at Sudoroom.
In order to bite off such a big task though, we'll need to organize! To
sit down, get a map of our personal resources / contacts / capacity,
decide on what to do first, and then coordinate outreach. This requires
a meeting! But it doesn't have to be painful. We can make food, do it in
a park, whathaveyou.
Last cryptoparty a couple of us talked about meeting up again this
sunday, but that date no longer works for me. Is there a better time for
people on this list?
If not, :( , can you at least give us a summary of any resources /
contacts / capacity within certain at risk communities you might have?
