We got a donation of two gigabit switches via Jake
* One Dell PowerConnect 5324 - 24 port gigabit switch
* One Dell PowerConnect 5448 - 48 port gigabit switch
They are both really nice rackmount managed switches.
I used a serial console to factory reset, upgrade the firmware and set
their IPs and passwords.
They have been added to the wiki page:
https://sudoroom.org/wiki/Network#Addresses
BUT! They have not actually been installed in the rack and hooked up.
They are sitting on top of a brown paper box in front of the existing
server rack.
They just need to be installed in the rack and wired up. They can totally
replace the existing switches.
If someone wants to do this, maybe even the people coming for mesh this
Sunday (nudge nudge wink wink). That would be great.
If you for some reason feel the need to reconfigure them, then the login
info is in /root/passwords on space.local
As is they are acting as normal switches (though they have the STP bridge
loop check delay when new ethernet cables are plugged in, just like the old
switches).
They have web management interfaces so they're pretty easy to work with.

Greetings!
Max B from Sudo Mesh tells me that you all are good people to reach out to
about Sudo Room's Gratipay account (I emailed
<https://github.com/gratipay/inside.gratipay.com/issues/198#issuecomment-100…>
accounts(a)sudoroom.org a few days ago but haven't heard back).
Gratipay is in the throes of a huge transition, precipitated by the loss of
our payment processor. Last week we stopped processing
<https://medium.com/gratipay-blog/gratipocalypse-42fd0ec0d9e8> entirely.
This week we are doing everything we can to get back on track, but in order
to process payments for Sudo Room in the future, *you will have to upgrade
to our new system*.
There's a *lot* of gory details; this GitHub ticket
<https://github.com/gratipay/gratipay.com/issues/3399> is where the action
is right now. The short story is that we will have an application form
ready later tonight or early tomorrow that you will need to fill out in
order to receive payments.
After missing last week, we're working really hard to run payday again
tomorrow with at least a limited set of users. Since Sudo Room has been
such an avid user I wanted to try to make contact so you can get back on
track as soon as possible if you're interested.
Are you interested?
chad

alright, sudo-humans is kinda running here:
https://sudoroom.org/humans
it is simply being proxied by apache to:
http://localhost:5000/
startup scripts are:
/etc/init.d/sudo-humans
/etc/systemd/user/sudo-humans.service
homedir and user:
/home/sudohumans
code is here:
https://github.com/sudoroom/sudo-humans/
what's missing:
there are still some absolute paths left in the code that need fixing and
I haven't hooked it up to sudo room's stripe account yet. hopefully this
can happen over the next few days.
check the issues for the upcoming milestone:
