Folks can request additions to the calendar with OR without a user account:

Next feature to be implemented and honed: event booking.
Please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, issues, ideas, or
would like to collaborate moving forward

Sam was having trouble making a new user on our wiki. See:
https://sudoroom.org/mediawiki/index.php?title=Special:UserLogin&type=signup
It says you don't have permission. But how are people creating
accounts, then? I personally approved several new accounts last week.
I don't see any recent changes to localsettings.php except for
installing new extensions. Perhaps this new Wordpress integration
plugin has something to do with it?

In the meantime I'm not sure what to tell him.
Hey folks,
After our conversation today at the Omni Hackathon about internal
communication, I started thinking that the next important piece of
infrastructure both for sudo room and for the omni collective may be a
"support" system, as in a Help Desk, or effectively an issue tracker.
After reviewing some open source options
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_issue_tracking_systems I was
wondering what other folks have used and may think about this.

I noticed that our Gittip is no longer connected to any bank account,
and the money is accumulating without being deposited. Did somebody
remove it? Why?

Hello All, my name is Daniel and this is my first email on this list.
I have shared with some folks at the Sudoroom the idea that perhaps we
should be getting ready to discuss the new layout, planning, and
execution of the LAN for our new location, the Omni.
My knowledge on LAN design and implementation is limited; but I am
excited of the idea of being part of this project with others more
experienced than myself.
Things that I can help with:
* Run and termination of cables, I have some experience with this.
* I have a set of wiring tools that we can use, that include:
Wiring Scissors
Cable tester
Multimeter
Telescopic poles
Drill, etc.
* Update the Cisco 2950 and Cisco 3550 Operating System; YES! We own
some of them that can be used.
* Basic switch configuration like creating VLANs, assigning VLANs to
switch ports, setting passwords, and things alike.
Anyways, I will be upgrading the OS to a 48 Port Switch tomorrow night
(Thursday May 1st) during or after the SudoMesh weekly meeting; so
please let me know if you are interested.
Thx!
Daniel

someone had set up (but never configured and implemented) an open source
analytics solution for sudoroom.org called piwik http://piwik.org/
do we have interest in running an analytics solution to have better
information to improve user experience for the site?
I'd consider setting it up, but don't have strong feelings at the moment.
I'm inclined to have less data about users, but having some data could be
valuable to provide better service.
what do folks think?
There are other open source web analytics options too:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_web_analytics_software#Free_.2F_Open_…
Hey all,
I'm working on a series of upgrades for the website. Testing out a new
wordpress theme and event management / calendaring plugin on our
development site. Please take a look:
http://dev.sudoroom.org/
I plan to have www.sudoroom.org direct users to a landing page on this
site, with clear donation and calendar information, rather than directing
them to the wiki (as it does now).
I'll also need a few people to help migrate content, is anyone interested?
No coding skills required, just copying old event information into the new
event form so we can preserve the historical data.
