Hi folks,
I have decided to suspend uC night at sudo room. The energy that we had at the first few
meetups and the interest that was generated in the following months with new people coming
in to see what it was all about just didn't translate into a community. I know a big
part of this is due to me not making much of an effort outside of the limited slot of time
allotted, specifically on documenting projects and following through with progress and
results. Also, alot of time at the meetups wound up being spent on hardware in support of
said projects, distracting from the theme. So I'm asking y'all for input based on
your diverse experiences with various hackathons, meetups, discussions, repositiories,
etc. I want to build a community around this but am not really sure where to start.
Some ideas:
-sudo room branded kits
-scheduling highlighted activities for each session - tutorials, discussions, product
brainstorming, all hands on deck production runs
-more than zero documentation
-diversifying channels of outreach
-joint meetups with other groups
-asynchronous meetups for specific, multidisciplinary projects.
I want to re-tool and keep rolling with this. Please share your thoughts!
Thank you,
Hol
