does anyone know how to set up VOIP phones? I have a bunch of them and i want
to set them up to call around.
We used to have an asterisk server at sudoroom, but that computer died or
something...and i have never been able to figure out how to configure asterisk
even though i've tried a couple of times.
presently i'm trying to do the most basic vanilla shit with https://onsip.com
I've set up a plain old Polycom model 321 phone according to instructions, but
it still doesn't do anything, and i can't get it to make or receive calls.
Anyone want to help? I have extra phones.

Is this 3D printing list on the wiki accurate?
I think afaik there is only one working 3D printer at SudoRoom, and it's on
the mezzanine right?

Hi all,
I wonder if SudoRoom or Omni would like this ceiling fan w/light:
I bought it on a daily deal a few months ago, hoping to cool my living room
this summer. But unfortunately, my handperson says there is not enough
support for it in my ceiling. So I would like to donate it somewhere
worthwhile and of course, I thought of you guys.
I can drop it off in the next few days if it can be useful.
cheers
Hilary

Hey guys
I am not really having time to sit through presentations. I thought we
could film youtube videos (or hosted on any other server) that show what we
did or got done this week at SudoRoom.
This could be shared on Social media (with permission) and I guess the
biggest ask is that you show: what did I do and learn that was made
possible by SudoRoom?
The videos can be played at will if there is an online meeting, but there's
no need to sit through hours of presentations (there are already too many
of those already right?)
at some point I'd like to schedule a "this month I learned" or "today I
learned" it can be async.

now that I think of it i might do this for the next session - i would even
think it'd be nice to record it and then put it up on the serve rin case
anyone is interested!

Got to Sudo a bit early yesterday for hack night and noticed one of the
benches was super tidy!
To whoever that cleaned it up- THANK YOU!
It inspired me to do a little tidy the bench opposite with the microscopes.
Again to whomever tidy-ed up, Thank you!
Sudo is a happier place when it¹s cleaner.

Hi Sudoers:
See these Brabson Family Foundation Grants:
https://www.brabsonfoundation.org/eligibility
This grant is due March 1: (click on the proposal submission form below
for details.)
Can you help submit a proposal for one initiative by March 1 (Friday?)
There are several initiatives at sudoroom that seem worthy e.g.
- Women and non-binary coding night
- Repair on Tuesday nights
- Chromebook rescue
- Raspberry Pi Meetups monthly on Sundays
- (others...)
I'll help with text for the repair and chromebook rescue initiatives but
I need others to shepherd and submit the proposal. It can be more than
one person -- the more the merrier!
Cheers, -Peter

Subject: [sudo-info] Re: Join Our Research Project: Recruiting Facilitators for
Embodied Virtual Reality Learning Experience
Greetings and I hope all is well,
I wanted to follow up on the email I sent regarding our research project
aimed at developing embodied pedagogical agents for virtual reality
learning experiences.
We are still in the process of assembling our team of expert facilitators,
and I believe your organization's expertise and experience would be
invaluable to our project. As a reminder, our goal is to create an
immersive learning experience for students from underrepresented
communities and low socioeconomic backgrounds.
The role as a facilitator in our would involve guiding learners through
simulated electronic assembly tasks within our embodied virtual reality
platform. This opportunity not only allows the contribution of cutting-edge
research but also provides a chance to make a meaningful impact on the
future of education.
If your organization is still interested in being part of our project,
please let me know your availability for a brief introductory call. I would
be happy to provide more details about the project and answer any questions
you may have.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to join our team. We truly value
your expertise and hope to hear from you soon.
Warm regards,
