I have a Geiger counter from this kit

Heh - I still got that one as well, from one of the very first classes in
the old sudo space. Did you ever get around to hooking it up to a computer?
Mine is currently lying on the table in CCL, if someone wants to play with
it. (Just keep it in working order, and somewhere I can find it...)

Is this something that could potentially be piggy-backed on to the
sudo mesh nodes as well? One of their node models has a barometric pressure
sensor as well. Not sure to what extent this is an open source project, but
we could find out.
