I know many people on this list have deep Oakland ties, so I wanted to be
sure you knew that Oakland is hosting the *National Poetry Slam* for the
first time in over 20 years.
Sudo along side the Bay Area Public school have been a huge supporter of
the arts and especially poetry.
People have flown in from all over the country to be in Oakland. Many of
them have never been to California or The Bay Area. This is their first
experience with the city you hold dear.
If you see one of the 500 poets please welcome them to the Bay!
Many have excellent ideas and vision, it may be a great way to spread
whatever project or message you are working on
Here is the Press Release - They are not sold out as of this email

I dumped out some 'inside' trash bins (i.e, non-Waste Management bins) that
have been quietly rotting away in the basement, sudo and elsewhere
throughout the space..
No problem really except people's penchant to not remember to put a bag in
the bin.
If you are throwing away something that does not get totally nasty, maybe
you think, why even use a bag? Good point. I guess its because that others
do thoughtless things like toss their half-eaten burrito into the bottom of
a clean (or at least not totally nasty) bin, together with a pile of
unwanted chips, and all of that gets mixed in with the non-nasty garbage.
Now the bin, even emptied, smells really nasty, and needs to be cleaned.
But, I don't feel like cleaning it, so it will just make whatever space
it's in smell nasty, too.
The point being, every bin should have a garbage bag. Bags mean that when
you empty the bin, the bin doesn't need to be cleaned every time, or remain
smelling totally gross.
If you can't find a garbage bag, ask someone. If we are out of bags, go buy
a box a block away at the 24h walgreens. Save the receipt, and the OOC will
pay you back!
If you are too broke or unmotivated to do those things, please take your
garbage with you.
To prevent rankness, and the fact that WE DEFINITELY HAVE RATS, please do
not use any inside bin without a bag. Please? Thank you..
David
Yar, thanks for you input.
I like your idea too. No, we don't have any hacker asking for it. But I came out w that thought since NoiseBridge donated SudoMesh a couple of hundred of so wireless routers (boards).
Chris, Sudomesh member, would be best to answer the question about who the racks where donated to.
Thanks!

Btw all, the stuff of john's in sudo room is unfortunately Sudo's / Omni's
responsibility to remove.
If you are waiting for him to do it.. or pay for someone to do it.. ain't
gonna happen.
Sudo should take everything it doesn't want of johns and centralize it into
one area if possible so its clear what is wanted of john's and what is not.
Things like pallets should be put outside. Of course, I have heard there is
a family of rats living in the stack of pallets by the SE corner of Sudo,
so Sudo / omni may want to call pest control for some advice first. But
regardless, Sudo should I think try not to mix in the stuff it wants, or
its own stuff, with john's stuff it doesn't want. Let's get all the crap we
don't want out of there. That stuff can be put in the utility room or the
ballroom. This would be a very good project for Sudoers who are wondering
how they can help. Go for it!
David
I don't know where to put all the bikes and stuff (kind of hidden behind
the back curtain) on the stage, as well as all the sudo drumkits and
things, so that I can start making the stage a workshop for doing carpentry
and other needed work on the omni (as per my previous email)
I will have to put these things in sudo somewhere.. but, I don't know the
best place - I will just have to stack them somewhere in that room.
So, if you are looking for you on-the-stage things, look in Sudo now?
Love
David
Awesome! Please bring them to Sudo when you get the chance. Thx!
