IDEA: How to bring bits of money to Omni. Easy Way.

Hello All! Straight to the point: Instead of going to buy a new/used piece of furniture or whatever item from a store, one should ask in their Collecive and or the Omni email list(s). So if a member has it, then the two parties involved will decide the amount of money that the person receiving the item should donate to Omni. This idea is not inclusive to items, it could include services. For example (a real example): I am going in a trip for 11 days (Nov 3 - 11), and I have no place to park my car for that length of time. If I use the parking lot at the airport, it will cost me $18 a day making it a total of $198 plus tax. But, I would be happier if someone in the list living near BART would allow me to park in their driveway or similar; from anywhere in Richmond to North Oakland, or from SF to the SF Airport so that I would donate $50 to Omni. Electronic Music Production Meetup Tonight

Hi! I'll be at Sudo Room working on music a bit after 5pm today. If you're interested in electronic music production please come by and say hello. ************************************************************************************ I'll be holding this meetup every Sunday between 5-7(ish) pm. We can meet at Sudo Room and move into another open room in Omni if necessary. This group will be focusing on the production/composition/programming aspect of electronic music production with an emphasis on Ableton Live and Logic Pro X. However,all DAW's (Reason, Cubase, Pro-Tools, Fruity Loops Studio) are welcome. I'd like to keep the group loose and unstructured for now so we can let it grow organically. The idea is to meet others interested in electronic music production, learn from each other, inspire ideas, collaborate on projects, etc. ~Merry

paying gig/help a radical bookseller and sudo member?

hello fellow sudoers! I wish I could be around sudo/omni more but i am so busy/inundated with bookselling crap! On that tip: would anyone be interested in helping me make a simple website? also, I need someone to help me learn filemaker pro (or something similar, theres something expensive called bookhound that i've heard is good but pricey,) so that I can (ideally) create a single inventory of my rare books and use that to upload onto both my website and amazon.com (or abebooks.com) with the same file.... I think this is possible?! This would be book info, price and in some cases, images. basically i'm looking for someone to help me get started online! If you can help, plz let me know! I have a little bit of $ to pay for this and would definitely try to compensate you the best I can! Blessings, Scott

finance-wg report back

i attended the finance wg meeting tonight where i learned that our 4 months in this building may be more like 2 months. additionally, the finance wg apparently has huge holes in their records & ask that the collectives give an accounting of any & all payments to the omni over the past year. it was also suggested that we start making plans to exit the building around the new year as our $ will likely run out by then. ~r

Sudo, Do you want any of the following things? 1. an awesome floor fan. The 3-speed fan motor seems to have died in its sleep, but the sweeping/ocsillator and timers still work, as does the remote control. 2. a small profile linux laptop. There's a short in the cable to the display, should be an easy fix (replace that cable) or use external monitor. Sweet little thing from zareason, currently running ubuntu, probably 5 years old. 3. a pair of desktop Harman/Kardon speakers that just stopped working. I suspect the plug or speaker-to-computer wiring. They kick ass when working. This is the first of more than one notes, offering what I think has sudo-level promise. j.
