The vending machine now provides some more feedback after money is put in.
Source code associated with my contribution is here. I haven't documented
the other components of the vending machine.

Based on the implementation details, it appears to me that
the bill acceptor is in fact plugged into one board (Arduino Leonardo)
that is connected by serial to another board (Raspberry Pi). Why is
the former board used at all? That is, why is the bill acceptor not
plugged directly into the latter board?
Dear sudoers,
As of tomorrow, sudo room will officially be 3 months overdue for Omni rent
($6K), with an additional $2K due September 25th for October rent.
I am transferring about $1K from our Paypal now, which will increase our
total money-in-the-bank to approximately $2900, enough to pay off one
month's back rent.
I want to give a shoutout to all who've stepped up to donate more and/or
sell some of our assets via eBay in recent months - Thank you for your
support! And please send an update on that progress!
I'm attaching a PDF of sudo room's history of pledges owed and payments
made in 2020, as well as 2018, 2019, and 2020's YTD Profit & Loss reports.
The following proposal up for consensus, which would put us meagerly back
in the black:
*Proposal to Omni Commons for sudo room consensus: *
Sudo Room is requesting a retroactive 50% reduction in rent for the months
of April-October (Pledge #s 2052, 2062, 2071, 2086, 2185, and 2195). This
is a six-month reduction in rent. Attached are sudo room's financial
reports from 2018 - 2020-to-date, reflecting ongoing inability to match
income to expenses (our only expenses being Omni rent and our web hosting
services). Sudo Room's donation from Sudo Mesh in 2018 of $10K was
predicted to create the necessary buffer for lack of sufficient income
through until mid-2020, and this prediction has unfortunately been correct.
We will be working actively to increase our income and report-back to the
Delegate's and Finance WG in October 2020.

Hey Sudo,
There is a person who was wanting to see if someone could help with their
laptop which got hacked and a SD card if I understood them correctly.
I gave them Sudo info email and discuss list email.
Christie or Kirstie ? Not a member but planned to apply when COVID hit. No
one was in Sudo Room. Ghost Town Hackerspace.
Also, what are next steps as I want to join Sudo but not sure what is even
going on at this time with Sudo?
Probably need to have info for folks who visit who are not members but want
tech help.
I am only in Omni to clean up the space, kick ass, and chew bubble gum (and
I'm all out of bubble gum.)

Hi all.
I will be running an air compressor for 12 hours straight in the sudo/CCL
area of Omni this coming Tuesday from around noon until midnight.
I am not sure exactly how loud it will be but the compressor is inside a
somewhat sound-dampened box so hopefully it won't be too bad. I don't see
anyone on the CCL pandemic access calendar scheduled for that period.
This is a so-called regeneration cycle for a CO2/humidity scrubber which is
needed to get it ready for use after it's been sitting unused for quite a
while.
Let me know if anyone has a conflict and needs me to reschedule.

I've got an old Leader LBO-325 scope, 60mhz, dual channel, nice and portable in a field case, with a 1x/10x probe.
I think it is from the 1990s. There are manuals online.
It works, though the focus doesn't, the trace is fuzzy. Probably needs a pot cleaned or maybe replaced.
Don't need it anymore, so if sudoroom or anyone wants it, let me know, it's yours.
Hello,
I'm a one-man shop in the peninsula and I desperately need to use a
laser cutter for my work for a couple of hours. Like everybody, I'm in a
very tough spot.
I have been trained and I have used the Noisebridge laser cutter a few
times but it's offline for three months now (security + covid + move).
HackerDojo is offline too. I have been using laser cutters for 15 years
(early days of Techshop).
Is it possible to access and use the Sudo Room laser cutter - one time?
If you have any information regarding this request, you can reply to
this email or contact me privately. Thank you in advance,
Grégoire
Hi all,
Is there an open source tool or KiCad plugin that'll convert
a KiCad PCB file to whatever format Seeeed Fucion wants?
I found Osh Park super easy to work with as they have a nice
web gooey to do this and can accept KiCad PCB files.
Seeeed Fusion, however, has instructions on exporting Gerber
files manually, which I followed, but which their system
did not accept. It seems like the kind of conversion that
could be automated away with some software.
Googled around, didn't find anything.
If you know of something that does, this, I'd like to use it.
Thanks.
