Replying privately with an argument is in some ways more aggressive
than replying on the list. It can make people feel cornered, makes it
harder for them to call for backup, and can potentially enable
triangulation gaslighting. Please ask for explicit permission from
people before starting private email arguments.

Speaking from an identity position is not the same as "I speak for
everybody who shares my identity." Missing a subtle but important
distinction like that and then haranguing somebody else over it, is
the hallmark of a well-played troll. You've been warned several times
on this list for creepy racist behavior. Please end it once and for
all. Thank you.
Last night Kevin mentioned that the Sudo Room is expected to have at least
three of its members participating in Omni Workgroups. Are we satisfying
that requirement? I know Ben is in the permits/construction workgroup. And
I think Yar is a part of the recently created scheduling workgroup. Is
there anyone else? If not, is anyone willing to step up?
Part two is tomorrow. Same time, same place, piles to sort, shelving to move.

Hey all
I saved a whole bunch of the chili from the event last night for ppl to eat
- it's in the fridge - PLEASE GRUB it with with wild abandon -
The ziplocks are veggie chili, the plastic bins have meat chili -
Any not eaten today, must be put into the freezer TONIGHT, or thrown out.
Seriously..
So hork it yo!
David
I noticed last night that one of the fridges upstairs is making louder noises, sounds problematic. I think it's the fan.
Does anyone know about refrigerators?

Hello fellow (and future?) Board of Responsibility and Little Power
members,
In case you missed it, we're planning a meeting that will happen within the
next week. It should be delicious (potluck style). Please RSVP with your
preferred time slots here: https://dudle.inf.tu-dresden.de/sudofivezero1c3/
Here are things that need to be discussed/done:
*We need to create an action plan and deadline to complete our 501(c)(3)
application.
*Since our 501(c)(3) form has not been completed, we need to fill out state
form 3500 to convince California not to levy state taxes for last year
(2013).
*We need to find a new Treasurer to replace Max.
*We may want to discuss refreshing the Board with a new set of members.
*We need to update the Board page on the wiki:
https://sudoroom.org/wiki/Board
I've started a planning document with these items and space for meeting
notes, here: <https://pad.riseup.net/p/2014sudoboard>. Please add anything
you think is missing.
Below is a message from Matt S. with more details and relevant documents
attached.
Cya,
Vicky

Subject: [sudo-board] Submitting Tax Information to State of California by
Nov 7
To: sudo-discuss <sudo-discuss(a)lists.sudoroom.org>, Board of Responsiblity
and Little Power <board(a)lists.sudoroom.org>
We received a notice from the State of California Franchise Tax Board,
notifying us that (since we have yet to submit or complete our 501(c)3
application) we must fill out state form 3500 to convince California not to
levy state taxes for last year, 2013.
I've filled out this form to the best of my knowledge so far, but it is
incomplete. It needs some more attention. See attached:
"state_tax_form_3500_sudo_room.pdf"
which should have saved my submitted values to many of the required fields.
We need a few things:
1. Review what I've already added (make sure dates and such are correct!)
2. Complete the rest of the form to the best of our ability
3. See if any lawyerly advice can help us ensure this goes smoothly
4. *Submit before Friday November 7* (30 days from October 9, 2014)
"Send us either your tax exempt letter, Form 3500, Form 3500A, or Form 100
with a copy of this letter within the next 30 days or we may issue a tax
assessment based on available information. A penalty of 25% of the
additional tax may be assessed for failure to provide information upon
written request."

that's a neat little device, but don't forget that our 3d printers can do
the same stuff and they're already built and sitting there!
you can attach a marker to the head of one of our 3d printers and use it
to write stuff, just like the piccolo does, except it will be way more
accurate. Maybe a little slower but not necessarily.
also we have a bunch of those smaller 3d printers from "3d systems" that
were donated, and people should start playing with them once we get the
space back put together.

Tiny CNC robot does tiny things in video… including watercolor!
last night several of us used human power to move the robot from its
pallet to its new home, where it is bolted to the floor.
http://spaz.org/~jake/robot/pix/boltedin.jpg
it is parked pointing straight up, so it doesn't take up extra space when
it is not being used. The control cabinet has been moved to the place
where the motorized stock saw is in this picture, in the upper left of the
frame. All the cables and stuff have been moved too, but i haven't
finished neatly arranging them or connecting everything up.
I intend to put big hooks on the wall behind, and hang the spare cables
there, out of the way.
If you are a robot hacker, know that the robot is disconnected for the
moment until a little more work is done to reconnect it and power it.
If you want to help, please run a length of CAT5 network cable (with ends
crimped on) from the server rack to the robot YASNAC. This cable will
carry RS-232 signals from the space.local sudo gateway computer to the
YASNAC. We will be using that computer instead of the 3d printer computer
as our serial interface, if there are no objections.
