I have income but need to supplement it with part-time work, something my age, race, gender make extraordinarily difficult. I have the skill set to make this work (at face value), saving money is as attractive as earning, but also have trust issues based on long experience with race and gender biases combined with massive egos that coalesce within these academic communities.
