Hi all,
My suggestions for a successful inspection in order of priority:
1. Move the following items UP from the basement common area to a staging
area in the entrance hall for imminent donation / disposal:
- BASEMENT COMMON AREA COUCHES / FURNITURE:
- OLD PHAT BEETS’ ITEMS (near SE basement stairway corner, close to
Shattuck) - note do not move the black bins with yellow lids, just all the
shelved / open box items, & shelving:
2. BALLROOM MAIN FLOOR & STAGE:
The ballroom needs to be prepared for an assembly inspection as if it is
going host a professional, full-capacity event. Therefore:
Except for chairs, moveable walls, the large wooden tables, and anything
going straight to the dump or recycling (like construction debris or
cardboard), move *everything* else remaining on the main floor & the stage
DOWN into the basement.
- ANV stuff can be identified by Silver and should ideally be centralized
in one basement area (eg, along part of one wall)
- TBC the ballroom stage must be entirely clear; no disassembled
scaffolding or other random stuff on there.
- The mezzanine level can be left alone for now.
- note there is demo debris near the ballroom double-doors leading to
shattuck. This should be moved to the entrance hall for C&D disposal.
- if by chance any painting supplies remain by the ballroom double-doors to
shartuck on 8/15, please leave those items there.
3. ENTRANCE HALL:
- Free Store shelved / racked items can stay as-is.
- However all Free Store unsorted / undisplayed donations that are not yet
shelved or racked for browsing, need to move into a centralized storage
area if the basement. This unsorted stuff is mostly in the rear of the free
store.
- Except for the large yellow rolling stairs, anything going to the dump /
recycling, and of course anything on display (shelved/racked) in the free
store, everything in the entrance hall should be moved to the basement.
This includes items on the entrance hall stage/platform.
- centralize all items going to dump/donation in one area of entrance hall
(couches from basement, scrap wood, etc.)
4. Re organizing storage into the basement:
- Reusable combustible items like waxed cardboard need to be nearly
stacked.
- Nothing can be stored within 2’-FT of the ceiling.
- ultimately (not necc. on 8/15), everything stored in basement needs to be
boxed namely within large, clear, stackable plastic totes. Sarah may be
able to procure some in time for the work party if she’s feeling selfless :)
5. OUTGOING DONATION / DUMP RUN: Items staged in entrance hall destined for
dump or donation will head out next week (no dumps are open Sunday.
I hope that all makes sense. Thank you so much to all work partyers in
advance!!
Best,
David
