After investing months wading through the wiki and asking questions, I repeatedly offered
opinions that fell on deaf ears, the few responses I got were a blend of self-serving
indifference, resistance to change, and smug condescendence.
A group of people working alone together geographically is not a community, and a number
of members with considerable influence have told me they see nothing wrong with extracting
community resources while never investing in meaningful social change.
I've advocated for co-operative problem-solving using sociocratic methods, and found
no understanding of what that means or discussing. Instead, I've been lectured about
the virtues of the existing organizational framework and consensus decision-making
system.
